These Terms & Conditions explain the policies that apply when you book, purchase, register for, or participate in dog-training services provided by Good Paws Dog Training, LLC ("Good Paws"). They are intended to set clear expectations, support safe participation, and help clients understand how bookings, classes, cancellations, and other service matters are handled.
In these Terms, "you" means the purchaser, participant, dog owner, or handler, as applicable. Please read these Terms before completing a booking. Additional terms clearly presented for a particular class, event, evaluation, or service may also apply.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By checking the required acceptance box and completing an online booking, purchase, or registration after these Terms are clearly presented or linked, you agree to the version identified by the Last Updated date. Participation is conditioned on following the safety and operational terms that apply to the service.
Bookings and payments are completed online. A place is confirmed only after any required payment is completed and Good Paws issues a booking confirmation.
You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase. The adult making the booking accepts their own payment, supervision, and safety responsibilities for any participating minor for whom they are the parent or legal guardian. Each other adult participant must receive and accept these Terms before participating.
If you register another adult or a dog you do not own, you confirm only that you are authorized to arrange the booking and provide accurate information; you do not accept these Terms on behalf of another adult.
If service-specific terms clearly disclosed before purchase conflict with these general Terms, the service-specific terms control for that booking.
2. Training Services
Good Paws provides dog-training instruction, education, demonstrations, and practical guidance for dogs and their handlers.
Every dog, handler, household, and environment is different. Progress depends on many factors, including the dog's health, temperament, learning history, and behavior; the handler's participation, timing, practice, and consistency; the environment; and circumstances outside the trainer's control. Good Paws does not guarantee any particular behavioral result, time frame, evaluation result, certification, title, or recognition.
Good Paws does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, or veterinary health-maintenance advice. Concerns involving pain, illness, medication, sudden behavioral changes, or a dog's physical ability to participate should be directed to an appropriate veterinarian or other qualified professional. Good Paws may pause or modify training and recommend professional evaluation when a health or safety concern may affect participation.
3. Group Classes
Group classes involve working around other dogs, handlers, members of the public, and environmental distractions. Participants must:
• Maintain reasonable control of their dogs;
• Use secure, properly fitted equipment appropriate for the dog and activity;
• Follow trainer instructions concerning spacing, equipment, exercises, interactions, and safety; and
• Prevent unapproved approaches or greetings between dogs or people.
Good Paws may adjust spacing, exercises, equipment setup, interactions, or participation when reasonably necessary for safety or productive learning.
4. Behavioral Disclosure and Safety
Before participating, clients must truthfully and completely disclose any known:
• Aggression toward people or animals;
• Bite or attempted-bite history;
• Significant reactivity, guarding, escape behavior, or handling concern;
• Contagious illness or recent known exposure;
• Animal-control designation, quarantine, or other legal restriction affecting participation; or
• Other health, behavior, or environmental circumstance that could affect safe participation.
Clients must promptly update Good Paws if relevant circumstances change. Good Paws may decline, modify, pause, or discontinue a dog's participation when reasonably necessary for safety and may recommend private training, veterinary care, or another qualified professional instead.
Participants must promptly tell Good Paws about any bite, attempted bite, injury, escape, equipment failure, property damage, or other safety incident occurring during a session, even if it initially appears minor. This requirement does not delay emergency care or any report required by law.
If Good Paws ends participation because a client failed to disclose a material safety concern or failed to follow reasonable safety instructions, any credit or refund will follow the terms applicable to that booking and applicable law. If Good Paws ends participation for another safety reason and will not provide the remaining paid service, it will offer a reasonable alternative, credit, or refund for the undelivered portion.
5. Health and Handler Responsibility
Participants are responsible for:
• Determining that their dogs are healthy enough to participate;
• Supervising and maintaining reasonable control of their dogs;
• Bringing secure, properly fitted equipment and needed supplies;
• Cleaning up after their dogs;
• Following trainer safety instructions; and
• Following applicable laws and the reasonable rules of each training location, including any restraint, animal-control, waste-removal, access, and safety requirements that apply to the participant or dog.
Unless a separately described service expressly states otherwise, ordinary private and group lessons are handler-attended and do not include boarding, daycare, kenneling, transportation, or unattended custody. With the handler's knowledge and permission, a trainer may briefly hold a leash or handle a dog for a demonstration or exercise. A trainer may also take reasonable, brief action without prior permission when immediately necessary to reduce the risk of injury or escape. The handler otherwise retains primary supervision and control of the dog.
6. Outdoor Training and Weather
Outdoor sessions or classes may be postponed, relocated, shortened, modified, or rescheduled because of excessive heat, thunderstorms, severe weather, unsafe field or ground conditions, government restrictions, or other circumstances affecting human or animal safety.
Good Paws will make reasonable efforts to notify affected clients using the contact information provided during registration. When Good Paws cancels a scheduled class, it will provide a make-up or rescheduled class. If Good Paws cannot reasonably do so, it will provide an appropriate credit or refund for the canceled class. The timing, location, instructor, or format may differ when reasonably necessary.
If Good Paws cancels an entire paid course and cannot reasonably reschedule it, the affected course fees will be refunded as described below.
7. Cancellations, Missed Sessions, and Refunds
For a group course, a cancellation received at least seven calendar days (168 hours) before the scheduled start time of the first class is eligible for a refund of the course fees, less only any actual third-party payment-processing fee that was clearly identified as non-refundable before purchase and may lawfully be retained.
A cancellation received fewer than seven calendar days before the first scheduled class, a cancellation after the course has begun, or an individual class missed by a participant is generally non-refundable. A make-up class, substitute class, recording, transfer, or credit for a participant-missed class is not guaranteed.
Please submit cancellation requests through the Good Paws website contact form or published email address so the request can be documented. A cancellation is effective when received by Good Paws.
If Good Paws cancels an entire paid course and cannot reasonably reschedule it, Good Paws will refund the fees paid for that course. When Good Paws cancels an individual class, it will provide a make-up or rescheduled class or, if that is not reasonably possible, an appropriate credit or refund for the canceled class.
Private appointments, evaluations, events, packages, or other services may have different cancellation, rescheduling, credit, or refund terms. When those terms are clearly disclosed before purchase, they control for that booking.
Nothing in this section limits a cancellation or refund right that cannot lawfully be waived.
8. AKC Programs and CGC Preparation
Good Paws may provide preparation for American Kennel Club programs, including the Canine Good Citizen® program. Participation in or completion of training does not guarantee passage of an official evaluation or receipt of any certificate, title, or recognition.
Any official evaluation is conducted according to the applicable AKC requirements. The American Kennel Club controls its program requirements, evaluation standards, applications, recognition, and related official fees.
Good Paws Dog Training, LLC is an independent business and is not owned, operated, sponsored, or endorsed by the American Kennel Club. References to AKC programs do not imply an affiliation or endorsement.
9. Acknowledgment of Inherent Risks
Working with dogs and participating in dog-training activities involves inherent risks that cannot be completely eliminated. These may include bites, scratches, jumping, pulling, leash entanglement, dog-to-dog conflict, falls, collisions, strains, equipment contact, property damage, accidental ingestion or food reactions, and exposure to contagious illness or parasites. Risks may also arise from interactions with animals, people, traffic, bicycles, wildlife, uneven terrain, heat, storms, insects, water, and other environmental conditions.
By choosing to participate, you acknowledge these inherent risks and remain responsible for supervising and maintaining reasonable control of your dog and following trainer safety instructions.
This section is an acknowledgment of inherent risks. It is not a release of Good Paws from negligence, an indemnification agreement, or a waiver of any responsibility that the law does not permit Good Paws to avoid.
10. Photography and Video
Good Paws may occasionally ask participants for permission to photograph or record classes, events, or training activities. Registration alone does not give Good Paws permission to capture or use a participant's identifiable image, voice, or video for promotional purposes.
Promotional use will be subject to any applicable permission or consent obtained separately from the participant or, when appropriate, the participant's parent or legal guardian. Declining promotional-use permission does not by itself prevent participation in training.
11. Minors
A minor participating in training must be appropriately supervised by a parent or legal guardian. The responsible adult remains responsible for the minor's supervision, the dog's handling, and compliance with trainer safety instructions.
Good Paws may limit a minor's handling of a dog or participation in a particular exercise when reasonably necessary for safety. Nothing in these Terms authorizes an adult to waive an independent legal right of a minor that cannot lawfully be waived.
12. Changes to Services or Policies
Good Paws may make reasonable changes to schedules, locations, instructors, exercises, course arrangements, and safety or operational policies when necessary. Good Paws will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes affecting registered participants and will honor applicable commitments already made to paying customers.
If a material change prevents Good Paws from delivering a purchased service, Good Paws will offer a reasonable alternative, credit, or refund for the affected service, as appropriate.
Updated website policies apply prospectively from the displayed Last Updated date. The version accepted at purchase governs that purchase. Good Paws may apply reasonable immediate safety changes to an ongoing service when necessary to protect people or animals.
13. Georgia Law and General Provisions
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, except where federal law or another applicable, non-waivable law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right, remedy, duty, or responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited or waived. If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive that provision on another occasion.
These Terms, the applicable booking confirmation, and any service-specific terms clearly disclosed before purchase form the operational agreement for the purchased service. A separate participant agreement applies only when it is clearly presented to and accepted by the person to be bound.
