Veterans participate in the same coached curriculum and student experience as civilian participants, with group sessions and online owner education designed to build everyday skills and stronger partnerships.

- Veterans do not need to upload a DD-214 to the public website.
- Veteran verification is completed once, then kept on file.
- Good Paws confirms the appropriate open cohort before issuing the tuition waiver.
- The tuition-waiver code is private, has no cash value, and is specific to the approved enrollment and cohort.
- Tuition-free participation does not remove course participation, safety, vaccination, technology, owner-education, or conduct requirements.
- After tuition is handled, veterans use the same training and online-learning system as civilian participants.
- Completing S.T.A.R. or CGC preparation does not guarantee an AKC title or test result.
- Participation does not certify a dog as a service dog or guarantee suitability for service, therapy, or facility work.
